"Fallen Soldier" 2016

"Fallen Soldier" was painted on a Delta Flight from Newark to Salt Lake City. A U.S. Military Soldier in his dress uniform sat in the row in front of me. Once the passengers were all seated the Flight Attendant announced there was a "Fallen Soldier" onboard that was being escorted home. This crushing realism had a deep impact on me. I painted this on the plane in my seat during the 5 hour flight. The passengers all waited and made way for the Escorting Soldier to be the First person off the plane. I'll never forget that flight, and this painting is dedicated to the memory of that fallen soldier and all of our service members.
